[Biography] Slayer

Slayer adalah band Thrash Metal, Speed Metal band dari Huntington Park, California, Amerika Serikat, yang dibentuk pada tahun 1981 oleh gitaris Jeff Hanneman dan Kerry Kingoleh. Slayer telah menghasilkan 10 album studio, 2 album live, dan 1 boxed set.

Slayer mulai terkenal di tahun 1980-an, terutama setelah mereka merilis album “Reign in Blood” (1986), yang mereka sebut sebagai “Album Terberat Sepanjang Masa”. Awalnya, gaya musik Slayer dipengaruhi oleh Iron Maiden dan Judas Priest. 

Ciri khas musik Slayer tremolo picking cepat, tanpa nada solo gitar, double bass drum, dan teriakan vokal. Lirik lagu Slayer bertemakan tentang pembunuh, kematian, satanisme, anti agama, dan perang.

Slayer merupakan salah satu dari “4 besar” dari Thrash Metal band bersama dengan Metallica, Anthrax dan Megadeth.
